British Armed Forces personnel have reportedly taken part in military training programs in Israel since October 2023, according to information released by the UK Ministry of Defence in response to a parliamentary question from MP Zarah Sultana.
Defence Minister Al Carns stated that fewer than five service members attended educational courses there, without specifying details about the training sites or units involved.
The revelation, first reported by Declassified UK, emerged amid the Gaza war, described by a UN inquiry as a genocide.
Retired General Charlie Herbert condemned the cooperation, arguing it risks associating the British military with war crimes by the Israeli Defence Forces.
The disclosure follows separate reports that Israeli officers have trained in Britain, including at the Royal College of Defence Studies, though the UK suspended further Israeli participation in October 2025 as the Gaza offensive intensified.
